SNOWDON
Snowdon Horseshoe - Crib Goch & Y LLiwedd- approx 7.5 Miles (12KM)
We started by parking at Pen Y Pass Car Park, and then climbing up the Pyg Track. We then made our way up to Crib Goch - involves a lot of scrambling. We followed the Crib Goch route to the summit of Snowdon, before having a short rest. For the descent we followed the Watkin path down, and then instead of staying right and continuing on the Watkin Path, we went onto the Y Lliwedd path. We followed this along the mountain edge, and eventually met up with the Miners track. We followed the miners track back to the car at Pen Y Pass. Campsites
Llechrwd - Llechrwd farm, Maentrwog, Blaenau Ffestiniog LL41 4HF
Lovely quiet campsite, alongside a stream you can paddle in. If you get a permit from the house, you can use the campfire areas that some pitches have. We needed wellies and the pitch was pretty muddy from the rainfall when we went. You are allowed BBQ's & campfires, as long as the BBQs aren't disposable and are kept off the grass.
Llyn Gwynant - Nant Gwynant, Caernarfon LL55 4NW
We loved this campsite, as it was right by the Lake, and they offered Breakfast, Lunch & Pizza. You are allowed BBQs & camp fires as long as they aren't disposable BBQ's and are kept off the grass.
